Profile

Shyama Nadimpalli is from Nellore, India and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in science and mathematics from Osmania University in Hyderabad. Shyama is a professional artist and mother of three based in Singapore for the last 25 years. Over the last 10 years, Shyama has participated in over 50 exhibitions and is recognized worldwide for her art. Shyama’s paintings, although varied in style and aesthetic, revolve around the themes of fluidity, romance, and elegance. Her landscape series is rich with earthy tones and draws inspiration from the renaissance era. This series introduces the creative use of coffee, acrylic links, and water to bring out the texture, shape and shadows that create organic patterns within the landscape.

Shyama’s most popular dancer series has been recognized for its unique style, portraying graceful female dancers draped in red. These paintings depict the fluidity of movement and beauty in elegance as the dancers move effortlessly. The choice of colour symbolises passion while the theme of dance and movement tells a story about breaking away from the things holding us down so we can let go. Her more recent works continue to follow the theme of fluidity and romance using abstract and surrealistic styles. This series explores a range of techniques including swipe, dutch pour, and blow. While these works are technical in nature, they are primarily works of spontaneity. These distinctive pieces can be recognized by its floral colours, sharp contrast, and varied textures.

Signature Style: Mainly works with oils and acrylics, coffee, and her paintings are located presently in Italy, Spain, Germany, London, Australia, U.S.A, Canada, Dubai, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and India.
